2006 MSC IN ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND ASSESSMENT

CLIENT: UNIVERSITY OF SUNDERLAND

Over the past 15 years, we have enjoyed a productive and happy collaborative relationship with the University of Sunderland’s Learning Development Services Unit. We were delighted, therefore, to win the tender to work with the School of Health, Natural and Social Sciences to revise and develop three existing modules on this programme to make them suitable for delivery by e-learning. We expect to work closely with module leaders to develop open, active, engaging and reflective e-learning materials for an international audience.

2005 RETAILER

CLIENT: ANGLIA POLYTECHNIC (NOW ANGLIA RUSKIN) UNIVERSITY

This interesting project involved the selection and revision of appropriate materials from the SESAME programme (see below); generation of new materials and the construction of a website to offer support and training in bite-sized ‘chunks’ to independent retailers in East Anglia. The materials provided much of the underpinning knowledge for the Level 2 NVQ in Retail. www.independent-retailer.com

2004 PRIMARY TEACHER TRAINING (PGCE) MATHEMATICS

CLIENT: UNIVERSITY OF EAST LONDON SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY STUDIES

We were the open learning writers on three modules forming part of the PGCE programme.

2003 RESEARCH INTO PROVISION FOR TEACHING ASSISTANTS

CLIENT: YORK ST JOHN COLLEGE

York St John has been providing training for teaching assistants on a flexible, almost ‘on-demand’ basis. Pilgrim Projects were engaged to carry out a systematic study of current provision and likely trends and produce a report to inform future business planning and staffing requirements as well as to establish how best to meet changing needs.

2003 TUTORING IN OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING AND PLANNING OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING

CLIENT: THE COMMONWEALTH OF LEARNING, VANCOUVER, CANADA

These were the first two titles in a series of workbooks being developed by the Commonwealth of Learning relating to different aspects of managing open and distance learning. Our brief was to carry out an open learning edit of the materials, produce new text and cover designs suitable for the entire series, oversee the course through production of final pdf files to be distributed throughout the Commonwealth.

2003 EFFECTIVE E-LEARNING

CLIENT: UNIVERSITY OF SUNDERLAND

We were commissioned to write a module based on the structure of the highly successful Effective Learning Programme, which we wrote for Sunderland some 12 years ago, which would bring learning firmly into the 21st century by focusing on the skills necessary for e-learning.

2000 AND 2002 SESAME

CLIENT: ANGLIA POLYTECHNIC (NOW ANGLIA RUSKIN) UNIVERSITY

Small Enterprise Sensitive Accessible Management Education is the rather grand name for a suite of open learning modules that we developed for the European Social Fund unit. We were closely involved in all aspects of designing the programme, specifying the materials, educational development and instructional design and project management of all pre and post production for three iterations of the programme. We also helped with the accreditation and tutor-training processes.
